“STUPID AMERICANS”: A GRUBER TWOFER (OR MAYBE THREEFER)

Earlier this week, a year old video surfaced in which jonathan gruber, generally recognized as one of the architects of ObamaCare, referenced “the stupidity of the American voter…” being integral to passing it into law.

The networks ignored it – again holding to their “keep \’em ignorant and you own \’em” creed….at least when it comes to going after Democrats in general and the Obama administration in particular.

But the quote became so pervasive on the internet that gruber was smoked out and had to say something.

So, yesterday, he went on as anonymous a show in as friendly an environment as he could find – which pretty much defines Ronan Farrow\’s show on MSNBC.  He claimed that those comments were just off-the cuff and he regretted saying them (gruber neither said he was sorry nor took them back, he only regretted saying them.  What a prince among men).

But last night?  A second video materialized in which he said that ObamaCare was passed because “The American people are too stupid” to understand it.

Either this man has an awful lot of cuffs, or he was lying about it being off-the-cuff and it is his working definition of the American voter..

The answer?  Well, given that, according to Ed Morrissey at hotair.com a third instance may also have been uncovered, I\’m betting on door #2.

Just as I am betting the network news will continue to ignore it.

Just like they would if it were happening in the Bush administration.  Right?
