SHOULD GOVERNOR NIXON RESIGN?

Jay Nixon is the Governor of Missouri.  And, in that capacity, he has mishandled the Michael Brown/Darren Wilson incident so completely and so disastrously that it is not unfair to ask whether he should step down.

Right from jump street, Nixon\’s actions have pandered to the race hustlers and the anarchists who, aided and abetted by his actions, have spent the last three and a half months destroying Ferguson at will.

On August 20, just 11 days after Michael Brown was shot and killed by Officer Wilson, I wrote this:

Yesterday,Nixon called for “A vigorous prosecution” of FergusonPolice Officer Darren Wilson. He did so before any evidence has beenpresented to a Grand Jury – thus before he has any actual knowledgeof whether Officer Wilson committed a crime or acted unprofessionallyin any way.

ButJay Nixon has not called for the “vigorous prosecution” ofthe rioters and looters who, with the police cowed into submissionand largely standing by while it happens, have turned Ferguson into aparadigm of anarchy and lawlessness; a testament to the premise thatcrime pays.  Unlike Officer Wilson\’s actions, there is no doubtwhatsoever about the rioting and looting; we have all seen the videofootage night after night.

Inthis regard, I would like to congratulate al sharpton and jessieJackson.  They have done well here.  Their incendiaryracial agitation has not only inhibited the police from clearing thestreets, but also apparently scared the crap out of Governor Nixon, turning him into their de facto mouthpiece.

And now, after the grand jury reviewed all evidence and concluded Wilson should not be charged, Nixon orders up the National Guard to protect Ferguson…..but a) doesn\’t deploy them where the rioting, looting and anarchy will take place and b) allows the announcement to be made AT NIGHT, when it was most advantageous for the rioters, looters and anarchists to operate.

The result?  Ferguson is destroyed again.

The blame for this carnage rests directly with Governor Nixon.  He did exactly nothing to protect the town and its people.  The vast majority of Ferguson residents had nothing to do with this,  But now the businesses in town – most of them minority-owned – are destroyed – many of them burned to the ground.   And Nixon is left sputtering out ridiculous generalities about how many troops he called up, while ducking the fact that he did not send them where this happened until Ferguson\’s main street was gone.

Should this months-long display of, at best, incompetence or, worse, complicity, mean Governor Nixon should resign?

You tell me.
