“SCHLONGED” VS. “TEA-BAGGING”: MEDIA BIAS IN FULL BLOOM

Ken Berwitz

As our intrepid “neutral” media continue to attack Donald Trump for noting that Barack Obama “schlonged” Hillary Clinton in 2008, here\’s a blog from 2009, written by newsbusters.org\’s Matthew Balan, about media and the “Tea Party” movement, which brings home the bias so clearly I am ashamed not to have thought of it myself:

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper followed his colleagueDavid Shuster into the gutter on his Anderson Cooper 360program on Tuesday in making a vulgar “tea-bagging” joke aboutRepublicans/conservatives. After CNN\’s senior political analyst David Gergenremarked that Republicans were “searching for their voice” after two electorallosses, Cooper quipped, “It\’s hard to talk when you\’re tea-bagging.”

Cooper had Gergen and chief business correspondent Ali Velshion to comment on President Obama\’s economic speech earlier that day atGeorgetown University. Cooper had asked Gergen about the Republicans\’ “positioning” in response to the speech. The analyst touted how the GOP was “indisarray” and that they “have not yet come up with a compelling alternative, one that has gained popular recognition.” Cooper replied, “Tea-bagging. They\’vegot tea-bagging.”

Translation:  Donald Trump uses the term “schlong” in its non-sexual, verb form, and is skewered by the media.

But 6 years ago, when the “Tea Party” movement was born and the left immediately started calling its proponents “tea-baggers” – what you just read is just one of countless examples – that was no problem at all.

For those who do not know what “tea-bagging” is, please excuse the graphic nature of what I am about to post, but there is no other way to explain this:   “tea-bagging” is a sexual act which involves a man dipping his scrotum into and out of another person\’s mouth.  And, believe me, there is no sanitized alternative usage of the term.

So we see that, to at least some of our media, non-sexual usage of the word “schlong” is an outrage, but only-sexual usage of the term “tea-bagging” is nothing more than amusing.

Do you think this is the way it would have played out if the left was using the term “schlong” and the right was calling leftists “tea baggers”?

There it is, folks.  Media bias in full bloom.  Please don\’t tell me you\’re surprised.
