I hate this series. How I wish there were no reasons to keep it going.
But that’s not the way of the world.
Here’s the latest installment, excerpted from a story at CBS News:
The director of a West Virginia development group and a mayor are under scrutiny after a racist post about first lady Michelle Obama caused a backlash and prompted calls on social media for both women to be fired.
Clay County Development Corp. director Pamela Ramsey Taylor made the post following Donald Trump’s election as president.
Her post said: “It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels.”
Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling responded: “Just made my day Pam.”
If you are wondering whether this pigsty-quality filth could possibly be true; whether these two public officials could possibly be so overtly racist….here’s your proof (it’s a little small and fuzzy, but you’ll see both comments):
How fast should these two be removed from office? How about before I finish typing this sentence?
I will live and die not understanding what makes people not only hate this way, but be stupid, ignorant and racist enough to proudly share their “thoughts” – if what you just read even qualifies as being thoughts – in a public forum.
Real racism. It comes in all forms from all sources. No group is immune to it and no group is immune from it. Certainly not these two sorry excuses for human beings. The sooner they are out of office the better Clay, West Virginia will be.
I don’t agree with what they said, I think it is disgusting. But, don’t they have the right to be racists??? It is up to the voters to decide if they represent them, not you or me… Although I do hope they get the boot.
Puzzling that the political affiliations of these two charming people are not given.
Zeke – I’ve looked at a half dozen or so web sites and can’t find the affiliation. Clay is about 2 to 1 Republican to Democrat, so you’d think they have to be Republicans. But I can’t find even one source telling me so.
