Suppose I told you that students in the Chicago School System were about to be indoctrinated with an “Afro-centric” curriculum designed to convince them that Black people essentially created civilization as we know it, that White people are nothing but plagiarists, and references a series of looney-tune left wing web sites, including one which is run by an overtly Jew-hating conspiracy theories, to “prove” it.
This could never happen, could it? Not with a school system which, presumably, cares about turning out students prepared to face the world and a Jewish Mayor, right?
Wrong.
Excerpted from Chuck Ross\’s piece at dailycaller.com (but please read use the link and read the entire piece – there\’s a lot more than what you will see below):
Chicagopublic schools are set to introduce a new Afro-centric curriculum, according to a closely-guarded copy obtained by The Daily Caller NewsFoundation.
Thecurriculum covers kindergarten through tenth grade and is designed toalign with Common Core. It includes a web link to TheAfrican.com, awebsite whose publisher decries“fake-Jews” and calls the United States a “Zionist-occupiedenemy territory.”
Thesite also claims that the world will end sometime this year andthat President Barack Obama is “merely another trick of [thebeast of the 4th Kingdom].”
“Thelaw said it had to be one unit devoted to the history ofAfrican-Americans,” Annette Gurley, CPS chief officer of teachingand learning toldthe Chicago Tribune in 2013. “What we\’ve done is we\’ve taken itthroughout the year for all subjects, not just one subject.”
Butsome of the subjects, including those discussed at TheAfrican.com,are heavily controversial. The Chicago curriculum topic discussedat TheAfrican.com is “The Black Athena,” a book written byhistorian Martin Bernal.
Inthe work, Bernal claimed that ancient Greeks stole much of itscivilization from Egypt, which, Bernal asserts, was populated byblacks. The Chicago curriculum entertains rebuttals to Bernal\’stheory but skews heavily in its favor.
Chicagofifth graders will be exposed to another controversial andwidely-criticized theory in Ivan van Sertima\’s “They Came BeforeColumbus.” Van Sertima, who taught at Rutgers University, theorizedthat Africans populated the Americas well before Columbus.
CPSinitially denied TheDCNF\’s request for a copy of the curriculum, made last year, citing the fact that the curriculum was still apreliminary draft.
Butlast December, Byrd-Bennett made apresentation using slides taken from the IAAAS curriculum. Stateopen records laws require officials to release records of preliminarydrafts when those records have been discussed in a public forum.
TheChicago curriculum does focus heavily on well established history andevents – including discussions on slavery, the histories of blackinventors, the civil rights movement and President Obama.
Butother sections also delve into controversial areas. The eighth gradeliteracy section unit, titled “Being an Advocate to SocialJustice,” directs students to the website for the American CivilLiberties Union. It also includes a poem titled “Racism is AroundMe Everywhere,” cartoons from the website LeftyCartoons.com, and itencourages discussion of Attorney General Eric Holder\’s infamous”nation of cowards” quote.
Theninth grade literacy section encompasses a study of the Pan AfricanMovement. Teachers are encouraged to engage their students in debateover voluntary segregation. “Have someone read the followingresolution, Resolved: voluntary segregation promotes growth in adiverse community. Teams then participate in a graded formal debate.”
Tenthgraders are introduced to “critical race theory,” which holdsthat institutional racism and white privilege are pervasivethroughout society.
Arequest for comment from Chicago Public Schools was not answered.
According to government proficiency data, the vast majority of Black students in Chicago are far behind grade level in reading and math.
But, instead of implementing new ways to make them more proficient in those basic areas – without which they will be consigned to extremely limited prospects for success in their lives – they (along with White students) will be getting study courses which tell them that, because they are Black, they are the Masters Of The Universe no matter what their level of personal achievement is. And Whites will be told that, as a race, they have no real accomplishments and owe everything to Black people.
Can this possibly do anything but raise the level of Black resentment and hatred toward Whites…and White disdain toward Blacks?
Is this what the Chicago school system wants? Evidently the answer is yes, because this is what it is about to indoctrinate students with.
Real racism. It comes in all forms, from all sources. No group is immune to it, or from it. Certainly not a school system which intends to replace abject failure in basic teaching with race hatred posing as “education”.
