On Saturday’s “Velshi” show, he had this commentary on President Trump’s efforts to overhaul the justice system:
We tried to tell y’all. I mean, Ali, I wrote specifically about this issue — what he was going to do to the Department of Justice — multiple times during the election cycle because, as you pointed out in your open, this was all written down. So I don’t like the “shock and awe” version of this because if you’d been paying attention, they wrote it down. They told you exactly what they were going to do and exactly how you were going to do it. And a majority of white people voted for this. This is the disgusting version of America that people want, and, oh, by the way, eggs are still more expensive. So you even get that. Great job, white folks…
…Again, this is what Trump promised, this is what white folks voted for, and this is what you normalize whenever you act like Trump is a regular, normal President who just has a different point of view than you do, right? So, like, it would be great if we could stand as one and draw a line in the sand and say, “This far, no further,” but we’re not going to do that. Our party is always on the back foot — always falling back, and Republicans are such pathetic cowards.
Translation: the reason Trump can do what he is doing, which includes going after the justice department (which, as we have discussed many times here has been weaponized in one political direction over recent years and sorely needs a revision back to the middle) is that you dumbass White people voted for him.
Are you White? If so, can’t you just feel the shame?
I especially like the part where mystal blames the price of eggs on Trump. The fact that egg prices rose due to the bird flu (which, of course, became an issue before Trump took office) and the fact that Trump hasn’t cured the bird flu and lowered egg prices in the one week he has been President? Irrelevant ‘n’ immaterial. Doesn’t count. It’s on Trump, you White folks. See what you’ve done?
Do you need me to tell you why this goes straight into the Real Racism category? I didn’t think so.
Real Racism. It can come in any form from any source. And that certainly includes a POPPO (Professionally Oppressed, Perpetually Pissed Off) one-note race-obsessed loser like elie mystal.
