World leaders from just about everywhere (except the countries which either are indifferent to or celebrate the terrorist attacks in Paris last week, marched in Paris yesterday. But our President didn\’t show up. And eric holder, who he sent instead, didn\’t bother to march.
But don\’t be fooled. This is CNN we are talking about.
On the other hand, all is not lost. We have an article at CNN,titled “Kerry defends absence from unity rally, will go to Paris on Thursday”.
Maybe he\’s also going to celebrate New Year\’s Eve there.
In case you\’re wondering how Mr. “Everyone knows my name, no one can figure out anything I\’ve ever accomplished” tries to explain Mr. Obama\’s absence, here is the answer:
“TheU.S. has been deeply engaged with the people of France since thisincident occurred… This is sort of quibbling a little bit in thesense that our assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was thereand marched, our ambassador was there and marched, many people fromthe embassy were there and marched.”
Well, there you go. We put those 40 or so world leaders to shame, by outdoing them all. Why…we sent Victoria Nuland.
That\’s right; the world-famous Victoria Nuland, whose fame and accomplishments dwarf all the rest. The same Victoria Nuland who is a household name in at least, uh, 6 or 7 households in the world. Ok, maybe 4 or 5.
What we have here is another impossibly huge foreign policy debacle from, arguably, the most inept, incompetent President of my lifetime. Maybe everyone\’s lifetime.
Let me leave you with a question: Do you think Barack Obama would have shown up if it were Israelis on a killing rampage at an Arab newspaper and a halal supermarket?
Scarily, I think we both know the answer.

UPDATE: At the daily press briefing, President Obama\’s Press Secretary, Josh Earnest, informed the room that we should have sent a “higher profile” person to be in attendance at the march. No apology, no indication that he meant President Obama, just “higher profile”.
Higher than Victoria Nuland? That\’s supposed to mean something? Frigging Waldo has a higher profile than Victoria Nuland, even when we don\’t know where he is.
In other words, there is no admission of President Obama mucking things up again, even though everyone knows he did.
On the other hand – assuming the various news reports are accurate – I do hope he enjoyed watching the football games instead.
After all, it certainly was no weather for golf.
