PUTIN CRAPS ON OBAMA. NOW WHAT?

You had to see this coming 100 miles away.

As excerpted from article in Alison Smale and David M. Herszenhorn\’s article in today\’s New York Times:

As Russian-backed armed forces effectively seized control of Ukraine\’s Crimean peninsula on Saturday, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia requested that the Russian Senate authorize him to use military force in Ukraine.

Mr. Putin\’s request, largely a formality, signaled publicly for the first time the Kremlin\’s readiness to intervene militarily in Ukraine, and it served as a blunt response to President Obama, who just hours earlier pointedly warned Russia to respect Ukraine\’s sovereignty.

Even as Mr. Putin submitted his request to the Senate, formally called the Federation Council, it was clear that forces allied with Moscow were largely in control of the disputed peninsula.

So President Obama warns Vladimir Putin that “there will be “costs” if he dares to go into the Ukraine. And Putin\’s reaction is to immediately go into the Ukraine – not even a day to think about what Obama might mean by that “warning”.

Putin is telling the President of the United States, in so many words, right in front of the world, that his threats have zero meaning and Russia could not possibly care less about them.  He is telling the President of the United States that he is a paper tiger.  A windbag.  A meaningless, toothless, inconsequential clown, to be laughed at.  To be crapped on — which is precisely what he is doing as I type this.

And what is Barack Obama going to do about it?

-The same thing he did when Iran told him that every part of the “deal” he cut with those terrorist butchers was invalid because he didn\’t have any idea of what they agreed to?

-The same thing he has done as Syria descends further and further into hell, with the rebels more and more controlled by al-qaeda – the same al-qaeda he claimed to have virtually decimated during his re-election campaign?

In short, nothing?

It hurts to remind you of this, but we deserve Barack Obama as President.  We spent four years watching him botch every part of foreign policy and we elected him again anyway.

But what did the Iranians, the Syrians, and now the Ukrainians do to deserve him?

Three years to go.  Will there be anything left when he is through?
