We got our first full-month gas bill yesterday…covering the period from January 29 to February 28 (31 days).
We converted from oil to gas in mid-January. Until then, we had been on a budget plan – which cost $402 for oil paid for 11 of the 12 months….About $367 a month on average.
Obviously, though, the monthly cost for oil is far higher during the winter months….probably $550 – $600 or more for an average full month. But since this particular period was among the coldest in recorded history (over 4 degrees lower per day than normal), we would have expected it to be in the $700 – $800 range.
The actual gas bill was $231.
Are we happy that we converted from oil to gas? Please don\’t ask me questions you already know the answer to.
