The dishonesty of the IRS scandal has reached the point where it is hard to tell whether we are watching our government in action or a bad remake of “On The Waterfront”.
First we have all sorts of suppression and punishment for groups that are guilty of agendas which do not coincide with President Barack Obama\’s
Then we have the lies upon lies, starting with the claim that nothing happened.
Then we had the claim that what did happen was the result of a few rogue agents in the Cincinnati office, which was debunked by emails uncovered through the Freedom of Information Act showing it was orchestrated directly from Washington.
Then we had the head of the IRS Tax Exempt division, lois “liar” lerner, pleading the fifth like a mafia don.
Then we have lerner suddenly “retiring” when incriminating emails surface showing her in direct contact with the Obama people.
And now we have this, excerpted from Katie Pavlich\’s piece at townhall.com:
Accordingto the House Ways and Means Committee, the IRS has “lost”two years of emails belonging to former head of tax exemptorganizations Lois Lerner. The IRS doesn\’t have a record of heremails to outside groups or government agencies from January 2009through April 2011, conveniently encompassing some of the same timewhen tea party groups were being targeted for extra scrutiny andpossible criminal prosecution. The IRS says the loss of emails is dueto a “computer crash” and claims emails from or to Lernerfrom the White House, Democratic members of Congress, the TreasuryDepartment, FEC and Department of Justice cannot be located.
Do you believe this? Could any sane person believe this?
From the “On The Waterfront” script:
You mean to sit there and tell me that your local takes in…
...$ every year... ...and keeps no financial records? Sure. We got records. Where are they? We was robbed last night, and we can\'t find no books. -You know you\'re under oath? -Sure. Isn\'t it odd to you that five different waterfront locals... ...were broken into last night? And the only item missing from all of them was the financial records? What do you mean, odd? Like I told you, we was robbed. That\'s all for now. Call the next witness.
Does that read any differently than what we are being asked to believe about lois “liar” lerner\’s emails and the IRS?
These people think that we are either complete idiots, so owned and operated by Obama & Co. that we\’ll figure out some way to rationalize this as factual, or so low-information that we won\’t know about it anyway.
I pity anyone who belongs to any of those three groups…..as I pity anyone gullible or partisan enough to believe a word that is spoken by any member of this administration.
