From Steven Shepard’s article at politico.com (which was placed 13 paragraphs down, after Shepard used other data to beat up on Trump, just in case anyone might think this was positive news):
The poll also shows voters evenly divided on a recent point of contention: whether they would rather have President Barack Obama continue for a third term – which is prevented by the 22nd Amendment limiting presidents to two terms — or whether they want Trump to take office this year. Forty-five percent of voters say they want Trump to serve as president for the next four years, while 44 percent want Obama to continue as commander-in-chief.
Does that look like a walk-in-the-park win for Obama III?
Now let’s take into account how much Democrats won California and New York by (enough so that Trump won a landslide electoral college victory but lost the popular vote by almost 3,000,000 due to those states). If Trump would have won the popular vote against Obama, it’s a good bet his electoral vote count would have been even higher than the 306-232 margin he got versus Hillary.
Still think you would have won, Mr. Obama? If so, take two ego-depressants – make that four – and see me in the morning.
