NO JUSTICE, NO DEMOCRAT GOVERNOR IN WEST VIRGINIA

Yesterday, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, the Democrat who became Governor of West Virginia last year in his first attempt at public office, announced he is switching parties and becoming a Republican.

Govenor Justice cited President Trump as a major reason for his decision:

“This man is a good man. He’s got a backbone. He’s got real ideas.  He cares about America. He cares about us in West Virginia.”

President Trump, in acknowledging the move, said “Gov. Justice did something else very important tonight. He showed the country that our agenda rises above left or right”.

In 2009, when Barack Obama became President and led his party’s leftward lurch, Democrats enjoyed a hefty majority of 29 Governors.  With this party switch, they are down to 15 – less than half of Republicans’ 34.  This dovetails neatly with the loss of 60% majorities in both houses of congress, down to 48% in the Senate and 44% in the House.

Call me a dreamer, but I can’t help thinking that heading far left has not worked out well for the Democrat Party.
