We have all heard about the racist comments apparently made by Los Angeles Clippers owner donald sterling.
Well, how about these – from New York Knickerbocker executive Larry Johnson, as reported by Cheryl K. Chumley of the Washington Times:
NewYork Knicks executive LarryJohnson has a different take on the racial fire that\’s recentlyignited over Clippers owner DonaldSterling, looking at the broader pictureto make his main point: It\’s high time blacks started their ownleague, he said.
Ina tweet, the former star player wrote: “Black people your Focusing on thewrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team ownLeague! To For Self!!”
100% racist, and – unless Johnson tells us this was altered or faked in some way – 100% his.
How much media coverage do you suppose this will get? How many protests do you suppose it will generate? How many demands do you suppose there will be for a firing, the way there are demands for sterlings\’ removal as a team owner?
I hope I\’m wrong about this, but I wouldn\’t bet on there being very much. See, some overt racism is more acceptable than other overt racism. Got it?
