MEXICO: OUR “FRIEND”

How would you feel if the government of your country not only allowed you to illegally cross the border and go to a neighboring country, not only encouraged it (by, among other things, putting out booklets explaining how to deal with the neighboring country\’s border patrols)….and now is paying money to keep the neighboring country from sending you back?

In a sane world, you would be disgraced and insulted.

But when we are talking about the United States\’ “friend”,  Mexico, this is not a sane world.

Read the first few paragraphs from Hansi Lo Wang\’s article at npr.com, and see why:

Mexicois helping some of its citizens apply for a controversial immigrationprogram in the U.S. called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, orDACA.

Since the Obama administration created the program in 2012, more than 580,000 unauthorized immigrants brought to the U.S. as minors have received temporary relief from deportation and been given work permits that last for at least two years.

But45percent of those who are eligible for DACA have not applied, andthe cost may be holding some back. Immigrants have to pay a total of$465 to the Department of Homeland Security for fees related to thework permit and for required fingerprinting.

Mexicanconsulates around the U.S. have been paying those fees for someapplicants through a little-known program for Mexican citizens withfinancial need.

Got that?  DACA – which, translated into plain English is “Figure out a way to let illegals stay”, is being funded by Mexico; the source of the illegals.

Mexico, therefore, is so happy to rid itself of its own legal citizens (to the USA, from where Uncle Sap will take care of their medical needs, while they send money back to their families) that it will pay legal costs to keep them here.

I know I\’ve asked this dozens of times, but I\’m asking again now:

-When do our politicians – Republican or Democrat (though, since Democrats are far more accepting of this disgrace, presumably because they figure eventually the illegals will become Democrat voters, it will most likely be Republicans) – start demanding that Mexico take care of its own citizens?

-When do they point out that the only reason this happens is that Mexico – a comparatively rich country – treats its citizens so poorly that they flee to the USA (literally 10% of the entire Mexican population has done so)?

-When do they point out that the Mexican government is absolutely complicit in this disgrace?

-And when do they demand that the Obama administration sanction Mexico – severely – for its actions, rather than looking the other way?

Ever?
