A ‘non-binary’ rugby player’s involvement in a women’s match, where three competitors were injured, has sparked controversy and concerns about safety.
Recent evidence reveals that the player, previously known as the “hardest hitter” in the men’s division, is Ash Davis. The rugby club has faced opposition from Davis’ participation in the women’s category.
The incident involving Canadian rugby player Ash Davis, accused of injuring three women competitors in a match, raised questions about player safety and fairness.
Davis, who had previously competed in the men’s division of the club, was found to be responsible for the injuries.
Marshi Smith, the co-founder of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS), expressed deep concern about the lack of consideration for the safety of women players within the rugby club.
She argues that young women are being put at risk to accommodate the needs of men.
If this doesn’t come under the heading “what the eff did you THINK was going to happen if men compete in women’s sports”, I don’t know what does.
OF COURSE a biological male – and a hard-hitting one at that – is going to injure women if he competes against them in a contact sport like rugby. An average seven year old would be able to tell you that without a second’s hesitation.
Did it really take Ash Davis’s mayhem against his female competition to get Canada’s “woke” geniuses to figure it out.
And, as the title of my blog says, this is just the beginning.
