zohran mamdani. A socialist who hates Israel. The Democrat choice for Mayor of New York City.
I blogged about this possibility. And, barring an almost-impossible “ranked choice” comeback by his major opponent, Andrew Cuomo, that is who Democrats will put up as their candidate.
He will face Eric Adams, the Democrat incumbent who chose to run for re-election as an independent, and Republican Curtis Sliwa, who was handed his losing-proposition candidacy by default.
Do not doubt for a minute that mamdani’s hardline socialist views (basically, free everything for everyone, just tax the rich) along with his avid dislike of Israel and – though he denies it – Jews in general, will attract a great man y “woke” Democrats
Regardless of whether mamdani or Adams wins (my bet would be heavily on Adams but, as pointed out in my previous blog, there’s no guarantee), his candidacy is virtually certain to further splinter the already-in-shambles Democrat Party. Not just in New York City, but far beyond.
This is a party imploding right in front of our eyes.
