MARK STEYN EXPLAINS RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM

In his latest online column, the excellent writer and commentator, Mark Steyn, makes mincemeat of the public figures who, with increasing desperation, try to pawn Islamic terrorism off as non-Islamic in nature.

Here, see for yourself:

TheFrench authorities killed three murderous savages yesterday. That wasthe only good news on a day in which a third hostage siege began inMontpellier. The bad news started at the top, with PresidentHollande\’s statement afterthe Charlie Hebdo slaughter and the Kosher grocery siege:

Thosewho committed these acts have nothing to do with the Muslim religion.

Yeah, right. I would use my standard line on these occasions – “AllahuAkbar” is Arabic for “Nothing to see here” – but it\’snot quite as funny when the streets are full of cowards, phonies andopportunists waving candles and pencils and chanting “Je suisCharlie.” Because if you really were Charlie, if you really wereone of the 17 Frenchmen and women slaughtered in the name of Allah inlittle more than 48 hours, you\’d utterly despise a man who couldstand up in public and utter those words.

Terrific.  In those few words Mr. Steyn puts to ridicule the useful idiots  – and the intelligent people who are determined to talk like useful idiots (Francois Hollande, as noted above – but Barack Obama, John Kerry and Howard Dean immediately come to mind as well) who continue, with increasing desperation, to separate Islam from Islamic terrorism.

Not all Islamic people are terrorist-supporting radicals.  Not by a long shot.

But terrorism committed in the name of Islam is done by too many Islamic radicals, in too many places, in control of too much territory, to be brushed off as unrelated to the religion itself.

Religion is what people make it.  That is why every major religion – Christianity, Judaism and Islam – have different factions.  Sadly, the faction of Islam which accepts, even celebrates, killing of non-believers to establish a worldwide Caliphate, is both large and growing.

Pretending it doesn\’t exist does not stop radical Islamic terrorism, it helps it.  And the Francois Hollandes, Barack Obamas, John Kerrys and Howard Deans of the world know that full well – or ought to.

We either fight radical Islam or succumb to it.  If we rationalize radical Islam we are not fighting.
