MARCO RUBIO\’S SPLENDID, OR SORDID, PAST

Ken Berwitz

I don\’t like writing material of this kind – completely unsubstantiated rumors that some loudmouth tosses out at a campaign event, with absolutely nothing but that loud mouth to back them up.

But since a loudmouth hurled charges that Marco Rubio has a sordid past  including claims of wire fraud, and finished by claiming Rubio cheated on his wife, just days after Rubio nailed Donald Trump for not being knowledgeable on policy – and on the same day that Trump put out a repulsive ad personally attacking Rubio in a particular repulsive way, which I blogged about earlier (what an amazing coincidence)….

…I thought I would post this link, to a 2 1/2 year old story, by John Cook of gawker.com, about exactly the same unsubstantiated rumors.

Please note that Cook\’s article, which was published on April 15th, 2013, points out that no one was coming forth with any evidence that the rumors were true.  And not one person has come forth since then.  Two and a half years of nothing.

Does this prove Marco Rubio has a pristine past?  Nope.  But it sure as hell doesn\’t give anyone a substantive reason to think otherwise, does it?

One other thing:  I don\’t know if Donald Trump had anything to do with this character suddenly materializing at the Rubio event, and therefore am not making any accusations.  But I have to say Trump\’s smell is all over it.

Make of that what you will.
