We still do not know for sure what happened during the incident that resulted in Michael Brown being shot and killed by officer Darren Wilson.
There are conflicting stories that, in the absence of actual video (which, even if we did have it, might not be conclusive) are unverifiable.
And, most importantly, given what has happened over the past week, we do not know if there was any racial component at all to this incident. The fact that Brown was Black and Wilson was White, in and of itself, does not mean this would have gone down any differently than if those colors were reversed. Again, in the absence of knowing what actually happened, there is no way to tell.
But, despite these facts:
– Black protesters, rioters and looters, who all seem to “know” it was racism and police brutality, have taken over the streets of Ferguson, Missouri. And police who have tried to contain them are being accused of racism and police brutality – to the point where there have been instances where police “stood down” and essentially allowed the rioting and looting to take place. It got so bad that, in at least one instance, people who were simply there to protest, got between the looters and one of the stores – presumably because they were embarrassed by the goings-on and did not want to be associated with it.
-jessie jackson came to town and, not knowing what actually happened, told the world that it was akin to a “state execution”.
-al sharpton came to town and, not knowing what actually happened, compared it to what happened to Eric Garner incident in Staten Island, New York (which he also claims, with no proof, was racist), complete with his “no justice, no peace” rant – which implicitly tagged it as a racist incident.
-The “new black panther party” came into town and led a “rally” in which participants chanted “Who do we want? Darren Wilson. How do we want him? Dead.” (see the video here), as the police did nothing to break this sick display up (would they have stood by if it were White Supremacists demanding the death of a Black police officer?)
-And now, presumably at the Obama administration\’s request, 40 FBI agents have been sent into Ferguson to investigate. 40 FBI agents to investigate an incident that might have been witnessed by, at the outside, a couple of dozen people? Who will they interview? Each other/
In reality, the shooting of Michael Brown may or may not have had a racial component to it. But now? Now it is a racial incident. Because racial tensions in the town (and let\’s not forget there are valid reasons that they exist), racial agitators like jackson and sharpton, and a media which seem intent on promoting it as one, have made sure that it is.
I have a question: What if the investigation concludes that the officer\’s account is accurate, and he shot Michael Brown in self-defense?
Will jackson and sharpton apologize? Will the looters give back what they stole? Will the family, who called sharpton in, thus assuring it would turn into an incendiary racial incident, apologize for what their son did?
Let me finish by posting a video that I found at theconservativetreehouse.com which was taken by someone at the scene immediately after the shooting.
At about 6:28, in the background, one of the people there gives his account of what he claims to have seen. Here is the web site\’s best shot at transcribing it (watch the video, see if you hear the same thing):
Person #1(questioner) How\’d he get from there to there?
Person #2(eye-witness) Because he ran, the police was still in the truck – cause he waslike over the truck
{crosstalk}
#2But him and the police was both in the truck, then he ran – thepolice got out and ran after him
{crosstalk}
#2Then the next thing I know hedoubled back toward him cus –the police had his gun drawn already on him –
#1.Oh, the police got his gun
#2The police kept dumpin on him, and I\’m thinking the police keptmissing – he like – be like – buthe kept coming toward him
{crosstalk}
#2Police fired shots – the next thing I know – the police wasmissing
#1The Police?
#2The Police shot him
#1Police?
#2The next thing I know … I\’m thinking … the dude started running… (garbledsomething about“he took it from him”)
Does that indicate that Michael Brown was standing or kneeling, with his hands raised in surrender to you?
Does that, if it is true, make every one of those people mockingly holding their hands up in surrender, look like duped fools?
And, given that theconservativetreehouse.com pulled this video and dialogue right off of youtube.com….have any of our wonderful “neutral” media done the same? Or looked for this person and tried to interview him?
Do you think any of the 40 FBI people might be able to find, and interview him? Or will he clam up for them, out of fear that what he saw might inflame the people in his own neighborhood and put him in danger?
This is a classic example of how a bad incident can be manipulated into a horrific one. I hope the people participating in this ugly transformation – very much including a large percentage of our media – are real, real proud of themselves.
