MAKING IT EASIER FOR ILLEGALS TO VOTE

As I have chronicled over the years – especially this year – if there is a way to make it harder for illegals/non-citizens to vote, Republicans will support it and Democrats will oppose it.

Most recently it was Democrats voting down the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Act, which would have required proof of citizenship to vote.

How can a political party vote against that, and then claim to have any credibility claiming they want a fair vote?

And now we have this, via Adam Shaw’s article for Fox News (did you really expect it from CNN?  MSNBC?  ABC?  NBC?  CBS?  The New York Times?  The Washington Post?  The LA Times?  Etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.?  Surely you jest):

The state of Florida is suing the Biden administration over what it claims is a refusal to verify immigration records so that the Sunshine State can ensure the integrity of its voter rolls and prevent noncitizens from voting.

In a lawsuit, obtained first by Fox News Digital, the state argues that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is mandated to respond to an inquiry from state or local governments seeking to verify the immigration status of anyone in their jurisdiction for a purpose authorized by law.

“Because the federal government is refusing to comply with these obligations and frustrating Florida’s ability to maintain the integrity of its elections, Florida files this suit,” the lawsuit says.

Florida says it “has an obligation to maintain accurate and current voter registration records” and also notes the impact of the crisis at the southern border, which brought millions of noncitizens into the U.S.

Asking again:  how can a political party do this and then claim to have any credibility claiming they want a fair vote?

This is what Republicans have to overcome if they want to win elections.  It is a disgrace, and a sham for anyone who believes in democracy – democracy being what Democrats claim Trump will take away if he is elected.

That’s something to think about on election day…and every other day as well.
