Here is the beginning of a fascinating little excerpt from Madeleine Weast’s article at Washington Free Beacon:
Veteran journalists at CBS are reportedly quite upset with network host Gayle King after she enjoyed a recent yacht vacation with Barack and Michelle Obama in Tahiti.
King, co-host of “CBS This Morning,” went on a star-studded vacation with the former president and first lady, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen, and her best friend Oprah Winfrey on billionaire David Geffin’s 138-meter luxury yacht, called the Rising Sun.
A source told Page Six on Thursday that CBS journalists are “pissed and raving mad” at King for vacationing with the Obamas while she anchors a news program that covers the White House.
I know the crux of this story is that a media personality is lovingly canoodling with the former president she supposedly provided neutral coverage about for the past 8 years. But I am ignoring it, because anyone who has experienced the coverage Ms. King – and most of the rest of her CBS colleagues -afforded Mr. Obama probably would not be at all surprised about it.
I’m more fascinated by the concentration of hugely rich people on that yacht; the ones living their privileged lives as they pass far left judgment down on we little folk.
David Geffen? Oprah Winfrey? Tom Hanks? Bruce Springsteen?*
Do you have any idea how much money these four are worth?
I just checked: Geffen’s estimated worth is over $7 billion, Winfrey is a poor second (funny use of the word “poor”) at about $3 billion. Hanks and Springsteen are, comparatively speaking, in skid row, with about $350 million each.
But every one of them is solidly on the left. At least when it comes to how we should live our lives. As if they had any commonality with us.
To tell you the truth, I haven’t been on a 138 meter (that’s about 452 ft.) luxury yacht in weeks.

* In fairness, I have to give Bruce Springsteen something of a pass on the hypocrisy issue. When he’s not on tour, in a number of ways he seems to lead at least something of a regular central-Jersey-guy life.
In fact, he’s been known to work out at the same gym my wife goes to – where he’s pretty much left alone when when he does.
Any time Bruce would like to work out with her – they’re within a few years of the same age – I’m sure she’d love to do so with him. Then he can come to our house, relax in the den, maybe toss back a couple, and we can talk politics.
I promise not to sing.

THE RICH LEFTIST BRIGADE
You would think that crowd would still be happy, after getting Fox to drop O’Reilly.
