On Thursday, I blogged about Secretary of State John Kerry\’s remarkably stupid comment that it was “a mistake” for Israel to insist that Palestinian Arabs recognize it as a Jewish state.

Yesterday, Paul Mirengoff of also pointed this out.  But  he also reminded us of what the hopelessly benighted, ridiculous Kerry had to say, after meeting, in Damascus, with Syria\’s bashar al-assad in 2010:

“Letme just say that I am convinced, and it\’s why I come back here, andit\’s why I am engaged in this effort. I am absolutely convinced thatcarefully calibrated diplomacy, that if that is what we engage in,that Syria will play a very important role in achieving acomprehensive peace in the region and in putting an end to the fivedecades of conflict that have plagued everybody in this region”

“Syriais an essential player in bringing peace and stability to the region. Both the United States and Syria have a very deep interest, a mutualinterest in having a very frank exchange on any differences that mayexist, but also on the many, many agreements that we have about thepossibilities of peace in this region”

Do you need me to tell you that Syria – a client state of terrorist Iran, a supporter of terrorist hamas and terrorist hezbollah –  has, for decades been little other than an impediment to peace?

Do you need me to tell you that al-assad has spent the last four years killing his fellow Syrians…to the tune of about 140,000 so far – and counting?

But that is what Kerry stood in front of the cameras and microphones to tell the world about its mass-murdering head of state.

And this is who Barack Obama, the equally overmatched, equally ridiculous President of the United States has put in charge of our State Department….replacing Hillary “What difference does it make” Clinton.

Our national nightmare continues….
