Karl Rove has Hillary Clinton in his political crosshairs. And his group, American Crossroad, has just put out an ad attacking Ms. Clinton by claiming she is a hypocrite who is running against Wall Street, while simultaneously being funded by Wall Street.
Here, see for yourself:
Ok, it\’s a killer ad. But is it accurate?
Well, here, from opensecrets.org, a neutral web site, are Hillary Clinton\’s five biggest donors since 1999:
Contributor
Total
Indivs
PACs
Citigroup Inc
$824,402
$816,402
$8,000
Goldman Sachs
$760,740
$750,740
$10,000
DLA Piper
$700,530
$673,530
$27,000
JPMorgan Chase & Co
$696,456
$693,456
$3,000
Morgan Stanley
$636,564
$631,564
$5,000
Four financial institutions….and a law firm.
That answers the question pretty clearly, wouldn\’t you say?
But here is the biggest question: will Hillary Clinton\’s heavy involvement with these huge financial interests – and the way American Crossroads\’ ad ties it to Iowa, the first primary state – hurt her?
My answer: well, it sure as (blip) won\’t help her.
I think, maybe, Bernie Sanders owes Karl Rove a steak dinner.
