“JUSTICE FOR MICHAEL BROWN”: WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

I assume you are aware that Michael Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson, and that there have been numerous protests there, and elsewhere, demanding “Justice For Michael Brown”.

But how often have protesters been asked to define what “Justice For Michael Brown” means?  I think I might have once or twice, but that\’s about it.

Where I come from, “justice” means that there is an investigation, facts are uncovered, and actions are based on whatever those facts might be.

But I do not get any sense that the protesters we have seen are defining it the same way.

The sense I get is that, with no exceptions that I\’ve come across, “Justice For Michael Brown” is defined as “Get That Cop, Throw Him In Jail, and Throw The Key Away”.

That is not a demand for justice.  That is a demand for a guilty verdict before any investigation takes place.

If I am missing something here, please show me where I\’m wrong.  If you have seen protests with signs, and chants, demanding that the legal process work fairly, please give me a link so that I can see them too.

Thanks.
