It used to be that the most recognizable lies were things like “The check is in the mail”, “No, that dress doesn\’t make your butt look fat” and “I promise I\’ll respect you in the morning” (yes, I cleaned up that last one).
Now they are things like “If you like your insurance plan you can keep your insurance plan”, “al-qaeda is virtually decimated”, “ISIS is the JV (junior varsity)” and “Our borders are more secure now than they\’ve ever been”.
I don\’t know about you, but I was a lot more comfortable with the first group than I am with the second.
And now we have a new one: “Let\’s not get overwrought about ISIS, they\’re not coming here”.
That so?
ISIS is threatening to kill us – not in some faraway place that most people put out of their minds if media don\’t talk about it for a couple of days, but in our own country.
Does this bunch of subhumans, who are using 21st century technology to bring us back to the 7th century, have a realistic chance to do so? Well, it turns out that the ISIS terrorist (not “militant”, but “terrorist” – something much of our media can\’t seem to understand) who beheaded American Journalist James Foley, and has expressed an eagerness to continue beheading Americans, is from the west (he has a UK accent). And it is likely that he is abdel-majed abdel bary – whose father is currently awaiting trial on his involvement in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, which killed over 200 and injured over 4,000.
We also know that, based on finding their passports, at least some number of ISIS terrorists are from the USA as well.
Let\’s see: ISIS is threatening to strike the USA, and has a virtually open border to send them across, where they can meet up with our home-grown jihadists – jihadists who may have already fought along side them in the Middle East.
And what stands between us and ISIS? Barack Obama? John Kerry? Chuck Hagel?
When these three try to assuage your worries by telling you they\’re on the case and ISIS is not coming here any time soon, do yourself a favor. Treat their assurances as if they came from the same people who stood behind the pack of lies enumerated at the beginning of this blog. Because they did.
Yes, we should be worried. Very worried.
