As you read the following excerpt from Matt Viser’s article in the Boston Globe, please think about what the same Boston Globe – and the preponderance of other mainstream media – would have said if this action were taken by a former Republican Secretary of State:
John Kerry’s bid to save one of his most significant accomplishments as secretary of state took him to New York on a Sunday afternoon two weeks ago, where, more than a year after he left office, he engaged in some unusual shadow diplomacy with a top-ranking Iranian official.
He sat down at the United Nations with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to discuss ways of preserving the pact limiting Iran’s nuclear weapons program. It was the second time in about two months that the two had met to strategize over salvaging a deal they spent years negotiating during the Obama administration, according to a person briefed on the meetings.
John Kerry has no government position. No standing. He has not been asked by the present administration to do a thing.
But, not content with having joined Barack Obama in making as bad a “deal” as the United States has ever made, with a country run by people who have made as clear as possible that they abide by or ignore rules at their own convenience, he is now actively trying to subvert the current, elected government’s efforts to extricate us from the mess he and Mr. Obama made.
John Kerry spent over 6 terms in the United States Senate, with a legacy of absolutely nothing accomplished. Rhetoric galore – all of it dutifully left wing – and not one piece of major legislation (an ineptitude for which we probably should be thankful).
He then was made Secretary of State by then-President Obama, where – God help us – he did have one instance of major impact: the Iran “deal”. The one where we not only agreed to conditions with the lying murderers in Tehran that should have made this a complete non-starter, but…
…we also unfroze $100 billion dollars in funds and sent them to those lying murderers. And, let’s not forget, we sent that money in an unmarked plane with no announcement of any kind – an obvious effort to hide this sick bribe from the public.
The stupidity of the Iran “deal” was so glaringly clear that even the Obama-loving Washington Post could not take it – as seen in iits frontal-attack of an editorial.
john kerry’s actions are nothing short of an effort to subvert the foreign policy of our current administration – by a useless remnant of the left who, apparently, can’t stand not being in the spotlight anymore.
When will this useless remnant do us a favor and just go away?
