Let’s start with these excerpts from Philip Wegmann’s article at realclearpolitics.com, describing the disconnect between claims by Illinois Governor, J. B. Pritzker regarding how President Trump is addressing the COVID-19 crisis for his state:
What upset the White House happened earlier, when Illinois’ Democratic chief executive went on CNN to say that he had “given up” on receiving assistance from the federal government; he also announced that his state was “doing what we need to do despite” the president.
This, a White House spokesman tells RealClearPolitics, is more than inaccurate.
“Whether through ignorance or incompetence or a propensity to politicize everything, Governor Pritzker is not being truthful with the people of Illinois when he says his state has not been provided resources from President Trump’s administration,” said deputy press secretary, Judd Deere.
And in the Illinois situation, the White House provided receipts.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers increased hospital capacity in the Chicago by more than 4,000 beds. The Defense Logistics Agency sent a decontamination system to the Windy City. As of last week, according to the White House, Rear Adm. John Polowczyk of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had airlifted 1.1 million N95 facemasks, 4.3 million surgical masks, 1.9 million surgical gowns, and 65 million surgical gloves to Chicago.
There was also money. The Centers for Disease Control funneled $23.7 million to Illinois — $12.2 million to its largest city specifically. The Department of Health and Human Services awarded another $51.6 million to 45 hospitals across the state. Another $1.2 billion followed.
Either those receipts are fraudulent (easily checkable, which is why it would never happen), or J. B. Pritzker, like his Democrat cohorts adam schiff, nancy pelosi, chuck schumer, etc., is lying to our faces.
Me? I pick door #2. How about you?
And then there is this fascinating demonstration of Pritzker’s competence, via Ben Bradley’s article for WGN-Chicago:
Millions of masks purchased by the State of Illinois from China may not be useable by those on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, after multiple states recalled similar equipment Thursday.
That includes many KN95 masks bought from China, which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said earlier this month was an acceptable alternative to the United States approved N95 masks. State spending records reveal Illinois has already spent nearly $17 million buying the KN95 masks.
An alert from the Illinois Department of Public Health followed, saying the KN95 masks may not meet performance standards and counterfeit masks are “flooding the marketplace.”
The department recommends agencies remove any KN95 masks that have already been received.
Who’s responsible for that, Governor? Trump?
I have a great idea for J. B. Pritzker. Sit down, be quiet, and stop making a fool of yourself.
I don’t know how easy that would be for Pritzker to do, but at least he should give it a try.

As Paul Harvey used to say, that’s the rest of the story! Yupper our unbelievable Governator at work. Derelict Cook County Democrat running our Prairie state head-on into socialism!
Yesterday Trump answered a question I have been asking, the states are going to be getting bills for all the money the federal government has spent bailing them out. And, to that i say good.
