ISRAEL DESTROYS SYRIA’S CHEMICAL WEAPON CAPABILITY (AND EVERYONE EXCEPT TERRORIST MURDERERS BENEFIT)

Since the fall of bashar al-assad’s hate filled, murderous regime, Israel has methodically destroyed much – maybe most (I hope) of the chemical weapons al-assad used to kill countless people, very much including other Syrians.

And, by doing so, Israel has prevented the people taking over in Syria – which may well be terrorist murderers no better than al-assad – from using those weapons the same way.

From Andrea Stricker ‘s article for the New York Post:

In the wake of the Assad regime’s collapse, Israel did the world a major service.

Over the past few days, the Israeli Air Force struck dozens of alleged Syrian chemical weapons sites to prevent these capabilities from falling into the hands of potential terrorists.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced on Monday, “We attacked strategic weapons, the residual chemical weapons capabilities, long-range missiles and rockets, so they won’t fall into the hands of radicals.”

The United States, apparently content to let Jerusalem handle this critical military task while it struck Islamic State targets in Syria, must now help finish the job.

The priority for Washington is to pressure Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) — the power behind Syria’s new governing authority — to let international inspectors in and certify Damascus’ chemical weapons are verifiably eliminated.

HTS is a US- and UN-designated terrorist organization that is an offshoot of al-Qaeda, so more than a little caution is in order.

A US official told Axios on Sunday that Washington believes it has “good fidelity” on Syria’s chemical weapons inventory, and that these capabilities are not currently at risk for acquisition by non-state groups.

Thanks, on the latter, no doubt, goes to Jerusalem.

In 1981, Israel destroyed the nuclear reactor saddam hussein-led Iraq was building in the city of Osirak.  Publicly, Israel was condemned for doing so.  But if the many reports that came out are to be believed, privately many countries – including enemies of Israel – were more than a little appreciative.

Don’t be surprised if the same thing happens now.

In today’s hate-Israel climate (typical weather for Israel) its actions are almost sure to be condemned.  You can’t say anything good about Israel…or, for that matter, Jews, can you?

But whether or not the rest of the (non-terrorist) world openly recognizes the service Israel has performed for them, it still stands as such.

We all owe Israel a huge debt of gratitude.
