Yesterday, Secretary Of State Marco Rubio testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Rubio, himself a senator until this year, was attacked (not questioned, attacked) for almost 10 minutes by Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).
To say that Rubio came out ahead in this attempt to nail him would be a gross understatement.
My favorite part? When Van Hollen, after inflicting almost 7 minutes of attacks on Rubio for daring to do his job, whines that “I have to tell you directly and personally that I regret voting for you for Secretary Of State”, and Rubio responds with “Well, first of all, your regret for voting for me tells me I’m doing a good job”.
Then, for the next three minutes, Van Hollen attempts to squelch Rubio and prevent him from answering the charges he leveled…but Rubio manages to not only answer but make Van Hollen look/sound ridiculous in the process.
