Here’s a question for you that I’ve asked over and over again for years: Gavin Newsom was the Mayor of San Francisco and now is the Governor of California: what positive things has he accomplished in those positions?
Can’t think of any? Welcome to the club. Neither can I.
But that is not to say that Newsom has not accomplished anything. It’s just that his accomplishments are serially negative, not positive.
Under Newsom, San Francisco sank from major international tourist destination to a repository for homeless people, drug addicts and illegals. Try and walk down the streets without tripping over used needles and human feces. And California has become a state where, for the first time in its history, more people are leaving than staying.
And not content with being an awful Mayor and a terrible Governor, Newsom now aspires to become President of the United States…where, presumably, he can do for the rest of us what he did for San Francisco and California.
But while he’s waiting for this next opportunity, Newsom is not content with just damaging his constituents. He is issuing insulting statements about Donald Trump – and insulting people who are dealing with him as well to make it as difficult as possible for Trump to function.

Mr. Newsom is in Davos, Switzerland this week, not for a ski holiday, but to attend the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting.
His latest appearance exemplifies the petulant, sore-loser mentality that plagues him, the California legislature, and the national Democratic Party post-2024. Newsom is using the global stage not for constructive dialogue but to shockingly lambaste world leaders for their supposed “complicity” in dealing with Trump, urging them to instead “buck up” and “grow a backbone” against the president’s assertive policies. His crude metaphors, likening Trump to a “T-Rex” that “mates with you or devours you,” and joking about bringing “knee pads” for kneeling leaders, reveal a bitterness unbecoming of a statesman.
Why is Newsom doing this? Why is he trying so hard to prevent Trump from getting things done for the country?
Is it just jealousy? If so, I wouldn’t blame him for realing jealous.
After all, In one year as President Trump has closed the border tight, gotten NATO members to finally pay something near their share of the organization’s cost, blown Iran’s nuclear capabilities up, was material to getting peace agreements between warring countries aroujnd the world, gotten commitments for trillions and trillions of dollar in new manufacturing from companies that, until Trump, have been placing their facilities in other countries, and gotten hundreds of millions of dollars in tariff money while inflation – which the “experts” said would blow sky high – actually went down instead.
Compare that to Newsom. Not to any one year of his political career, but to all of them combined. See what you come up with.
Bottom line? Gavin Newsom is a loser among losers. The Guy Smiley of politics – substituting great hair and a vacuous, obnoxious grin for actual accomplishments.
All he seems to be good at is reciting insults that, I suspect, his team has supplied to him; not that he himself is capable of coming up with. That, and getting good press from our media, most of which seem perfectly happy to prop up anyone who criticizes Trump, no matter how useless that person is.
And this, potentially, is the 2028 Democrat nominee? Our next President?
God help us.
