The title of this blog is not meant as hyperbole. I mean it literally.
What would cause me to think this is a serious issue? Read this report – this fully referenced report – by Liz Collin and Dr. JC Chaix at Alpha News and decide for yourself.
Here is a key segment:
(Former congressional candidate A. J.a0 Kern also pointed out how Rep. Omar changed her birth year on certain records—a key detail hiding in plain sight that Kern says has been long overlooked.
Kern discovered that “Ilhan Omar’s congressional staff contacted the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library on May 17th [2019] requesting to change the congresswoman’s date of birth from October 4, 1981 to 1982.”
Even more telling, Kern said Rep. Omar’s staff made the request “just two days after a video was published on social media pointing out that Ilhan was not 17 years old in 2000.”
Alpha News reviewed emails showing the Legislative Reference Library was contacted on May 17, 2019, by Omar’s staff and asked to change her birth year to 1982. The emails also state that Omar’s staff was working with the Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress to change her birth year on that site as well.
According to Kern, “Ilhan’s Oct 4, 1981, date of birth clearly corroborates that she was not 17 years old in 2000, but rather 18 turning 19. Fully two years beyond what would be allowed for naturalization through her father.”
If you use the link and read this article, you will see the actual documents being referenced. There does not seem to be any doubt about this sudden – and beneficial – change to ilhan omar’s birth date.
So where are our media on this? Where are the demands for an explanation of why she had her birth date changed? What that change meant? Whether it means she is not, and has never been, a legal citizen of the United States…which would also mean she is not a legal member of Congress.
Serious journalists would be – and should be – all over this story. Let’s wait and see which of them, if any, even bother to note that it is an issue.
And then be sure to incorporate their attention, or (much more likely) inattention to Omar’s behavior/legitimacy into your overall opinion of their credibility.
