I\’ll make this short and sweet.
Media have pounced all over Donald Trump because he said that thousands of Muslims in the United States cheered 9/11 when it happened. They are calling him a liar and/or an ignoramus for saying so.
Well, they better call me one as well. Because, though I don\’t know the actual numbers, I absolutely remember the news stories about that cheering, and I absolutely remember seeing video footage from Paterson, New Jersey – possibly other places as well.
If you read this blog, you know I don\’t have a lot of use for Donald Trump as a presidential candidate. So be assured that this is not, if you\’ll pardon the bad pun, a “trumped up” defense of someone I support. It is no such thing.
I\’ll tell you what it is, though: it is a clear demonstration of just how biased our media are.
When Hillary Clinton lied to our faces about Benghazi in 2012, lied to our faces about Benghazi, during her testimony before the House Oversight Committee, and continually throughout the intervening years, these same media either gave it “and in other news” status or just looked away and did not report it at all. But Donald Trump says something that is true – about a group which most of them are currently disposed to treat as aggrieved – and the truth does not matter one little bit.
On this one, Trump is correct. The media venues which say he is not are the liars.
That clear enough for you? I hope so.
