IS DEI THE DEFINITION OF OUR COUNTRY?

Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is both the Democrats’ House Minority Leader and leader of the House Democratic Caucus.  He, obviously, is a very important figure in politics.

The problem?  Due, it seems pretty clear, to a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, he has become more and more unhinged over time.  And being unhinged often means making ridiculous, indefensible comments.

Like this one, which he made during a speech at the “National Action Network” – a creation of the disgraceful fraud/race huxster, al sharpton:

“When you attack diversity, equity, and inclusion, you attack the United States of America.”

That so?  Would you please explain, Mr. Jeffries?

He continued:

“And here’s the other thing that we know, that this effort attacking the DEI, it’s not a serious effort. It’s not about celebrating merit. That’s what they tell you. They’re not trying to celebrate merit. They’re trying to elevate mediocrity — not trying to celebrate merit. They’re trying to elevate mediocrity.”

Wait a minute.  Let me get this straight.  DEI – diversity, equity and inclusion – which says that there has to be a sufficient number of people with different cultures, skin colors, etc. regardless of whether others are more qualified, is what the United States is all about?  It doesn’t elevate mediocrity over merit, based on culture/race?

That is ridiculous:

-If you demand meritocracy be the key factor, regardless of culture or skin color, I’m with you.

-If you demand that, when there is little difference between candidates, skin color be a tiebreaker to address past injustices, I’m with you.

-But if you demand that, for example, this many Black candidates get jobs, even if it means putting less competent people in place and rejecting people who are better suited for the job, I am NOT with you.

Not only is that wrong, that is also dead-on racism.  Exactly what Hakeem Jeffries purports to be fighting.

When otherwise qualified people are held back or rejected due to their culture or skin color – and let’s not kid ourselves, it still happens plenty today – that is not only wrong, it is disgusting.  It certainly is not my definition of what our country should be.

What I think some people lose sight of is that this is just as true for every race and every culture.

Listening, Rep. Jeffries?
