IS CALIFORNIA FINALLY STARTING TO GET THE MESSAGE?

Two very interesting election results out of California:

-San Francisco Mayor London Breed was ousted by Daniel Lurie, who ran, among other things, on a promise of restaffing the currently depleted police department and getting serious about public safety;

-Los Angeles District Attorney Paul Gascón was defeated by c hallenger Nathan Hochman, who indicated the difference between them by saying “The voters of Los Angeles County have spoken and have said enough is enough of D.A. Gascón’s pro-criminal extreme policies; they look forward to a safer future.”

 Could it be?  Is it possible?  Are San Franciscans and Los Angelinos finally starting to try and undo the damage people like Breed and Gascón have wreaked on their cities – damage that would not have taken place if the same voters who ousted them this week had not voted them into office previously?

And even if it is, could this be just a one-time phenomenon?  Could it just be restricted to these two cities?

That certainly is a possibility, given that Adam Schiff was just elected to the U. S. Senate (though let’s remember that his opponent was Steve Garvey, a terribly weak candidate known more for his time as a Major League baseball player than anything else).

On the other hand, is it a real trend.?  One that extends beyond San Francisco and Los Angeles?   If Republicans put up a serious candidate will California be ready to rid themselves of Governor Gavin Newsom next time around?

We can only wait and see…..and hope.
