What does that title mean?
Read the following two short excerpts and you’ll see.
First we have this, from Chris Palmer’s article, yesterday, at philly.com (the Philadelphia Inquirer’s website):
President Trump said Thursday that Philadelphia’s murder rate has been “steady, I mean, just terribly increasing.”
By almost any interpretation, he’s wrong.
That’s pretty definitive, wouldn’t you say?
Next, we have this, from Stephanie Farr’s article, today, in…uhhhh… the Philadelphia Inquirer:
Philadelphia has had yet another bloody week of gun violence. Over the course of seven days, five people were shot dead. So far this year, there have been 27 homicides; that’s one a day. It’s too early to tell how the year will end, but homicides in the city to this point are up 37 percent, compared with the same period in 2016.
FYI: both Mr. Palmer and Ms. Farr are listed as “Staff Writers”.
Is it me, or do these two need a staff meeting?
