Lloyd Austin is the United States’ Secretary of Defense. He was appointed to this position by President Joe Biden – with (if you believe a word she says) the advise and counsel of “I’ve been a part of, of, of, most of the decisions that have had impact.” Vice President Kamala Harris.
And now, flush with the “success” of our Iran and Ukraine policy, he is giving Israel advice on how to fight a war against enemies committed to its annihilation.
From Joel B. Pollak’s article at breitbart.com:
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin told his Israeli counterpart, Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant, that Israel needed to “pivot” to a “diplomatic pathway” in Lebanon, despite stunning Israeli advances against Hezbollah.
The statement came after Israel acknowledged that two United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) “peacekeeping” soldiers had been injured by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fire in southern Lebanon. The IDF said it had been firing on Hezbollah terrorists near a UNIFIL position. Later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the United Nations to withdraw UNIFIL troops from Lebanon, as Hezbollah was using them as “human shields.”
Hezbollah started the conflict on October 8, 2023, when it began firing on Israeli communities in solidarity with Hamas, the Palestinian terror group that carried out the brutal October 7 terror attack in Israel. Israel fired back, while evacuating over 60,000 residents from 74 Jewish and Arab towns near its northern border.
For nearly a year, Israel said that it was open to a diplomatic solution in which Hezbollah withdrew from the Lebanese border, and the border region was disarmed, as required by United Nations Security Council resolutions. The Biden-Harris administration sent special envoy Amos Hochstein back and forth in an attempt to forge an agreement. But Hezbollah refused to abide by the United Nations requirements and insisted Israel withdraw from its own border.
To review: Israel was attacked with a horrific massacre by hamas on October 7 of last year. The next day, hezbollah, in concert with hamas (both are dedicated to obliterating Israel and killing Jews) started raining artillery on northern Israel, resulting in the evacuation of entire towns there.
This has gone on, unabated, for a year, with Israel not taking major action against hezbollah – even though they had 100% justification for doing so all that time.
And now that Israel, finally, is acting – and succeeding spectacularly – to end hezbollah’s daily acts of terrorism against its northern towns (not to mention Israel in general)? Lloyd Austin tells them it’s time to “pivot” to a “diplomatic pathway”.
In other words, its time to let what’s left of hezbollah off the hook and “negotiate” with a terror group that is committed to its annihilation.
Negotiate about WHAT? Maybe agreeing to a compromise – like hezbollah hitting Israel with bombs only half the year and leaving only half the towns evacuated?
Chris Rock, years ago, did a hilariously funny bit about how a Black driver should act if he’s pulled over, titled “How not to get your ass kicked by the police”. Despite the fact that this was a comedy routine, Rock’s advice – to a friend in the passenger seat when the police come to the car window – is exactly correct for our Biden-appointed Secretary of Defense.
“Shut the fuck up”.
End of blog.
