Ironically, the single most damning part of the 11 hour marathon on capital hill yesterday might not have been the lies Ms. Clinton was caught in, one after the other, or the deftness and equanimity with which she handled some very tough questioning, but the two minute coughing fit she had toward the end of the evening:
Remember Mr. Clinton\’s reason for not being present at previous Benghazi hearings – that she had fainted, fallen, and suffered a concussion? Remember (and you\’ll have to work at it because most media buried it almost immediately) Bill Clinton telling us it took a half year for her to recover?
Well, now we see an uncontrollable coughing fit – also at the time she is being grilled about Benghazi. What does that say about her overall health? What does that say about her physical condition – especially under pressure (a 24/365 situation for a President)?
It seems to me this is as much of a wedge for Democrat challengers as it would be for an eventual Republican opponent if she wins her party\’s nomination. And, not incidentally, it is a rationale for the Joe Biden to reconsider; to come back in and “save the party”.
It will be interesting to see how media, her fellow Democrats, and Republican opponents handle this – maybe immediately and maybe in the near future.
