HILLARY\’S BENGHAZI HEARING: A QUESTION AREA

Ken Berwitz

Not much blogging needed for this one.

Excerpted from Andrew Husband\’s article at mediaite.com:

CNN Newsroom host Carol Costello wastaken aback when Patricia Smith revealed in conversation thatshe actually didn\’t know much about what happened to her son – despite the factthat the Benghazi attack occurred three years ago. Smith responded inkind, claiming that although Clinton promised to “get back to” her followingher son\’s funeral ceremony in Washington, D.C., no one had since contacted heron the matter.

“She has not calledme. She has not contacted me. She has not given me any information,” she said, “except to tell me that I am not a member of the immediate family and I do notneed to know.”

“They told you that?” an obviouslysurprised Costello asked.

As alarming at Smith\’s claims were, however, she really let her feelings be known when Costello played aclip from Clinton\’s testimony in January 2013. At the time, Clinton said thatit was their job “to figure out what happened and do everything [they could] toprevent it from happening again.”

Smith’s response? “She\’s lying! She\’s absolutely lying!”

The frustrated, bereaved mother of Sean Smith went on to repeat her claim that – despite beingthe mother of the fallen diplomat – she wasn\’t told anything after the funeralceremony because they didn\’t consider her a member of the immediate family.

“I saw on TV thebloody fingerprints on the walls over there. I asked specifically, \’Are thosemy son\’s fingerprints crawling down the walls?\'” she cried. “Somebody\’s got totell me!”

Do you think this will be a question area when Ms. Clinton testifies before the House Oversight Committee tomorrow?

Do you think this should be a question area?

Or to cite a very famous quote related to Benghazi, should the mother of one of the dead just be told “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

I have no doubt that, today, there is elation in the Clinton camp over Joe Biden\’s decision not to run for President.  I wonder if that elation will last past tomorrow.
