HILLARY CLINTON:THE BOOK ON BENGHAZI

For years, I have blogged about the fact – and it is one – that Hillary Clinton\’s career, encompassing over 30 years of appointments and elective offices, has virtually no accomplishments to show for it.

Now, as she possibly prepares for a 2016 presidential bid (I have serious doubts that bid will ever materialize), Ms. Clinton\’s remarkably accomplishmentless career is – finally – becoming a major problem.

Consider her latest book (or whatever part of it, if any, she personally wrote;  who knows how much was ghostwritten for her), which is tentatively scheduled for release on June 10th.

Parts of it have already leaked out – most notably her 34 page chapter on the Benghazi massacre .

Here, from Maggie Haberman\’s article at politico.com, are just three excerpts from that chapter, in rust, with my comments in blue (and, believe me, there are more…I just don\’t want to make this blog oppressively long):

-“Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country”. Translation: if you criticize my breathtakingly incompetent, inept performance, you don\’t care about the people who may well have died as the result of it.

– “Many of these same people are a broken record about unanswered questions. But there is a difference between unanswered questions and unlistened to answers.”  What unlistened to answers? The only answer we have heard so far, stated after not showing up to any of the hearings for four months, was that it doesn\’t make any difference, at this point, why the massacre took place. That is not an answer, that is a clumsy, fraudulent dodge.

– “(President Obama) gave the order to do whatever was necessary to support our people in Libya. It was imperative that all possible resources be mobilized immediately. … When Americans are under fire, that is not an order the Commander in Chief has to give twice. Our military does everything humanly possible to save American lives – and would do more if they could. That anyone has ever suggested otherwise is something I will never understand.”  This, apparently, is an attempt by Clinton to defend herself against the fact that on 9/11, the one day of the year terrorists would most like to strike, her State Department was neither on high alert, nor were there any contingency plans in place if a strike took place.  In other words, it is supposed to hide her astounding level of incompetence at that time. Well, it doesn\’t. The President\’s order to do “whatever is necessary” does not magically put those steps in place, it only sanctions them.  Someone has to decide what the steps are and take them.  That was your responsibility, Ms. Clinton, and you did not do a thing – which is why the blood of those four men is on your hands.  Do you ever take responsibility for anything? How about, this one time, standing up and admitting your horrible, disastrous mistake?  Or do you figure that media will aid and abet you by looking the other way as they have so often in the past?  Your dishonesty and cynicism are disgusting.

If Hillary Clinton thinks this will insulate her from bearing responsibility for her actions – lack of actions, more exactly – regarding the Benghazi massacre, I suspect she is wrong.  Since there is no way to rationalize a defense of her performance, all the weasel-worded BS in the world is unlikely to make it happen.

Even her usually-compliant media pals may not be enough to save her on this one.  Nor should they.
