Today, media are reporting that Joe Biden is offering highly classified information regarding the location of hamas’ top leaders and their key military tunnels in Rafaj…if Israel promises not to go through with a full-scale invasion there.
This, we evidently are supposed to believe, is a great move by Biden and his people, because it might stave off the unavoidable large amount of “collateral damage” – both human and infrastructure – if Israel were to go in.
I agree that this information, if accurate and used effectively, might do such a thing. That’s the good news.
But here’s the bad news. If Biden has this information, WHY HAS HE NOT ALREADY GIVEN IT TO ISRAEL????????????????????
Are we not allies? Does Israel not regularly share intelligence with the United States? Have the two countries not worked together to create the Iron Dome defense system, among others?
If Biden actually had access to this information, it should immediately have been given to Israel. Every day that information was not provided it elongated the war and contributed directly to more death and destruction.
This should not and cannot be a carrot on a stick to be held in front of Israel. This should not and cannot be a political calculus that might get Biden a few more votes in Michigan and Minnesota.
If Joe Biden has this information, it should – it MUST – be provided to Israel immediately. No conditions.
And if he has had it for any length of time without providing it to Israel, it is nothing less than the betrayal of our ally and the reason so many additional human beings, Jewish and Muslim both, are either dead or displaced.
