“Good racism” – defined as racism people who claim to be against racism are fine with, because they have decided it is beneficial.
Here, from James Reinl’s article for London’s Dail Mail via msn.com, is the latest example:
Denver Public Schools has been hit with a federal civil rights complaint over a memo it sent to some 13,000 staff, asking they endorse a ‘black excellence’ pledge about the ‘deep harm whiteness brings to students.’
The conservative group Parents Defending Education (PDE) filed a complaint with the Department of Education’s civil rights office this week, accusing the district of ‘discrimination’ by prioritizing black students over others.
The memo says it was sent by the district’s senior leadership and its $305,000-a-year Supt. Dr Alex Marrero, who describes himself as the son of a refugee and the ‘first Latinx head of the city’s school system.’
The complaint is the latest example of the backlash against what many conservatives and others see as an overreaching ‘reverse racism’ after the Black Lives Matter movement erupted in 2020.
“The deep harm whiteness brings to students”?????
In other words, White students – irrespective of anything else about them, including what they think and how they behave – cause deep harm to Black students, specifically because of the color of their skin.
And the School Superintendent, Dr. alex marrero – who makes sure you know his gender and “Latinx” identity right up front – thinks this addresses racism?
Y’know, he’s right. It does address racism. Because it IS racism in its purest form.
What does this genius think the “based exclusively on your skin color I know who/what you are and what it is doing to people of another skin color” position is other than racism?
Tell me, please: how is this in any way different from a klansman telling you what he “knows” about Black people or a nazi telling you what he “knows” about Jews?
How many times does it have to be said? The single straightest line to prejudice, intolerance and hatred is seeing people as components of groups instead of as the individuals every one of us is.
I’ll end with one more comment I make repeatedly, but is entirely apropos here. It is amazing how much racism is spewed by people who profess to be against racism.
