From Emily Kopp’s article for dailycaller.com:
California expects to spend 28 times more on health benefits for illegal aliens than on state police in the 2025-2026 budget period.
Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s final budget allocates $348 million to law enforcement while the state’s own budget experts in an October report estimate the tab for giving full health benefits for illegal aliens amounts to $10 billion. The new report by the state’s Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) reveals a 35% higher figure than the $7.4 billion cost Newsom estimated in his January 2025 budget proposal.
That’s quite a budgetary comparison, isn’t it?
But are you surprised? What, exactly, has Gavin Newsom done for California that is beneficial?
HE seems to think it’s a lot. Here is a tweet from Newsom detailing what he thinks is his superlative record…
– $11 insulin
– $20 minimum wage for fast food workers
– $25 minimum wage for healthcare workers
– Universal Pre-K – Free school meals
– 600,000 new apprenticeship programs
– Largest civil service program in the country
– Universal healthcare
– Improved test scores across the state
California is proving there is a better way forward than Donald Trump’s recipe of fear, chaos and increased costs.
… and one of his detractors answering this way:
The truth? Newsom is a disaster. He was a disaster for San Francisco when he was its governor. He is a disaster for the state of California.
And now he is considering a run for the presidency of the United States???
The only reason anyone even begins to take him seriously as a potential presidential candidate is that most of our media keep protecting him.
Gavin Newsom, who I call the Guy Smiley of politics, has two major assets that I can find: he is pretty good looking and has really nice hair (I’d love to know what hair gel he uses; I’d buy some for myself).
Anyone care to tell me what his other assets are? Like, for example, his political assets – i.e. what he has done that benefits the people he is responsible for in his current position as governor?
Not an easy task, is it?
I’ll end with one more question: why do you think California, for the first time in history, is losing rather than gaining population? Because of what a good job Governor Newsom is doing?
I rest my case.
