Excerpted from Miranda Bryant’s article in London’s Daily Mail:

Sophie Theallet has vowed not to dress Melania Trump when she becomes First Lady and urged other designers to follow her example.

Speaking on behalf of her brand, the designer tweeted a damning open letter in which she said they ‘will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady’.

Citing the ‘rhetoric of racism, sexism and xenophobia’ of the president-elect’s campaign, she ruled out ever working with Melania – despite not having been asked.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that I will not design any dresses for Melania Trump either.  Since Sophie Theallet has written the letter referenced above, and she and I are in exactly the same situation – neither of has been asked to do so – I feel that I should turn down the non-offer as well.

Or, put another way, who, other than herself and her publicist, gives a crap whether Sophie Theallet does or doesn’t design dresses for Melania Trump?
