fred phelps, founder of the Westboro Baptist Church, which revels in hating gay people and soldiers, among others, and generated enormous publicity for picketing cemeteries where members of both groups were laid to rest (though not enough for most media to mention he was a Democrat, and, for years, a strong supporter of Al Gore), has died.
May he rot in hell.
