INSULTS INSTEAD OF ISSUES: DONALD TRUMP’S PATH TO A LOSS?

Back in August I blogged this:

…the way for Donald Trump to lose this election is to bluster and bully and insult.  That tells voters nothing about what’s wrong with Kamala Harris, only what’s wrong with Donald Trump.

With that in mind, here, from John Hinderaker’s latest commentary at powerlineblog.com, which discusses the fraudulent claims being made by Democrats at the end of this disheartening political campaign, is what Mr. Hinderaker says about Trump’s (all too typical) penchant for a) allowing himself to be distracted/consumed by those claims and b) responding to them with personal insults – in this case aimed at Liz Cheney, whom he called a “war hawk”, “dumb” and “a moron”:

… why on God’s green Earth was Trump talking about Liz Cheney? He should be laser-focused on the border and the cost of living, not petulantly pursuing his personal grudges. This kind of blunder threatens to undo much of the good will he gained with the masterful McDonalds and garbage truck episodes.

And so the campaign stumbles to a finish. It has always been Trump’s to lose, but, as Harris seems to be picking up steam, it may be that Trump has found a way to lose it.

To which I reply:  “Exactly right”.

When you’ve got the issues, talk issues.  When you have nothing, talk trash.  Donald Trump has the issues and talks trash.

I sometimes wonder whether his maturity level stopped growing when puberty hit.  It is crap like his comments about Cheney (and so many others that my fingers would hurt trying to type all their names out) that makes me think this way.
