DONALD TRUMP: PRESIDENT, AND (FINALLY) PRESIDENTIAL

Last night Donald Trump gave us a bravura performance as President of the United States.

His speech hit just about every note, and hit just about every one of them in key.

He reiterated the program outlined during his campaign with more specifics (to the extent this can be done in a single speech), and addressed many of the most rankling concerns his detractors have about his personal humanity.

I’m not sure it could have been done better.

When Mr. Trump held his last press conference, I compared him to Thornton Melon, the over-the-top character created by Rodney Dangerfield.

Last night, Thornton Melon was gone.  What we saw and heard was the President of the United States.
