I watched bits and pieces of the remarkable tribute to Charlie Kirk today.
Until this week I had no idea he was that popular, that renowned. He apparently was, and remains, a national icon for millions and millions of people.
But when Donald Trump stood at that podium, all I could hear was “yeah, Charlie was a great guy, yeah, he did great things, but look at how great things are since I became President – with his help, of course, but I’m doing it – and look at how I won the presidency, and look what I’m accomplishing, and look at me, look at me, look at me………………”
I found it disgusting. But all too typical of what you get from Trump, no matter what the occasion/no matter how clearly it was – or should have been – about someone else, not him.
End of blog.
