We just finished a presidential election in which Donald Trump – despite his history of support for Israel – was continually called a hitler wannabe by the hard left segment of the Democrat Party – which, in recent years, has become its predominating segment.
That was particularly fascinating since, last month, Trump warned hamas that there would be “all hell to pay” if the hostages – all of them – were not released by the time he took office.
But, you might say, politicians make all sorts of comments, all sorts of promises, when they’re trying to get votes, and a lot of them quickly fall by the wayside once the election is over.
With that in mind, here is yesterday’s exchange on the subject, when Trump was being interviewed by writer/commentator Hugh Hewitt.
Here is Mr. Hewitt’s question and Trump’s response:
Hewitt: And what do you mean…when you said there’ll be hell to pay if the Americans are still being held hostage, what did you mean?
Trump: Exactly what it says. If those hostages aren’t released by the time I get to office, there will be hell to pay. I don’t think I have to go into it anymore…Those hostages have to get out. They have to get out now.
Tell you what; for a guy who, Democrat after Democrat assured us, was an admirer of hitler, that is quite a promise.
Y’know, a guy – like, me, for example – just might come to the conclusion that they were full of crap then, and knew they were full of crap, but said it anyway because even though it was crap it might have gotten them a few votes.
But there’s one way to find out for sure. If those hostages are not all released by January 20th we’ll find out for sure if Trump meant it, and what he will do about it.
Stay tuned.
