Based on what I know about this judge, the answer is probably that he does…and is happy to facilitate the possibility.
Why would I come to such a harsh conclusion?
Well, let’s first understand who Judge James Boasberg is, via these excerpts from a blog I posted on March 31 of this year:
James Boasberg is Chief Judge of the district court in Washington D.C.
Judge Boasberg – and his family – hate Donald Trump’s guts.
And Judge Boasberg – what an amazing coincidence – has just been “randomly” assigned his fourth – that’s right, fourth – trial concerning President Trump and his administration; this one against senior people in the administration who were involved in the “Signalgate” blunder.
Boasberg’s daughter, Katharine, works for something called “Partners in Justice” – which, among other things, opposes Trump’s deportation of Venezuelan gang members and the Laken Riley act.
And his wife, Elizabeth “Liddy” Manson, is a regular contributor to Democrat causes.
In a fair world, what you just read would be immediate cause for recusal of Boasberg from any Trump-related case. But, quite the opposite, the “random” process employed by those non-partisan folks in DC (a venue whose voters went over 90% for Kamala Harris last year) keep putting him on the bench for them, one after the other.
Could this stink more? Tell me how.
Now, with the above in mind, read this from Shane Galvin’s just-published article in the New York Post:
A New York City woman locked up for making deranged social media posts threatening to kill President Trump was quietly released by an Obama-appointed judge last week.
Chief US District Judge James Boasberg released Nathalie Rose Jones, a 50-year-old Big Apple resident, under electronic monitoring on Aug. 27 and ordered she see a psychiatrist once back home, court documents revealed.
The surprise release comes just days after US Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya denied Jones bond over the persistent threats on Trump’s life she issued over social media earlier this month.
“I literally told FBI in five states today that I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present,” she allegedly wrote, ending the paragraph, “Let’s deal with this and restore domestic tranquility.”
To review:
-Boasberg hates Trump.
-Boasberg is “randomly” selected as the judge overseeing case after case against Trump in a virtually one-party venue.
-And Boasberg has allowed a deranged Trump-hater who has gone public with her intent to assassinate him out of jail.
What would you conclude?
One more point. This story is being covered by the New York Post and a small number of other media venues (google the name Nathalie Rose Jones and see for yourself). If the parties were reversed – i.e. if Nathalie Rose Jones were threatening to kill, say, Barack Obama when he was President, and an Obama-hating judge put her out on the street – do you think it would be ignored by just about every other major news source, as it is being done now?
We both know the answer.
