DIM BULB DEBBIE STRIKES AGAIN

It has been a while since I posted an installment of “Dim Bulb Debbie Strikes Again” – not because Debbie Wasserman Schultz does not ongoingly provide material for the series, but because if you do too much of anything it eventually gets tiresome.

This one, however, I must write about.

On Monday, DWS was in Milwaukee, at a round table discussion of “women\’s issues”.  And, never missing an opportunity to combine viciously obnoxious rhetoric and partisanship, this is what she had to say about Governor Scott Walker, who is running for re-election this year against Democrat Mary Burke:

“ScottWalker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. Iknow that is direct. But that is reality…What Republican tea partyextremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by thehair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.”

How vile is this? Well, here is what a clearly disconcerted, worried Ms. Burke said through her press secretary:

“That\’snot the type of language that Mary Burke would use, or has used, topoint out the clear differences in this contest. There is plentythat she and Governor Walker disagree on – but those disagreementscan and should be pointed out respectfully.”

Evidently, Ms. Burke has determined that there just might be better ways of discussing legitimate political differences with Governor Walker than accusing him of slapping around women or grabbing them by the hair and pulling them back.  I wonder how much more strongly she would have made these points if it weren\’t for the fact that DWS heads the Democrat National Committee, thus can decide how much $$$ Burke is allotted for her campaign.

Governor Walker\’s Lieutenant Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch (an interesting selection for someone who hates women) is under no such constraint, thus was a bit less kind than Ms. Burke in her reaction to Schultz\’s comments:

“Ithink the remarks were absolutely hideous and the motive behind themwas despicable”

Even that is probably a sanitized version of what she was really thinking.

If a Republican – woman or man – ever said a fraction of the disgusting things Debbie Wasserman Schultz says, she would be attacked mercilessly, and endlessly, by the same media which, other than local coverage, have virtually buried this latest example on her behalf (The proof?  Where have you seen any mention of it besides here?)

Not for nothing do I call her Dim Bulb Debbie.

And not for nothing do I call mainstream media in this country ridiculously biased.
